The tool named “Edit into a short” is available for both Android and iOS users. Using this tool, creators can select up to 60 seconds from any of their videos and convert them into Shorts content. Additionally, they can even add a few more things like filters, texts, and video shots with the Shorts camera. While announcing this latest feature, YouTube said that the Short would be linked to the creator’s full-length video. This video would be the one from which the short has been taken from. Doing so will help to make the “Edit into a short” tool an ideal promotional tool for the creators’ longer video. As per a post by YouTube, this Edit into a Short will allow all the creators to bring life to their classic content. However, it will not fully replace traditional editing software if we talk about creating shorts. But it will for sure encourage the creators to look back to their catelog and figure out if anything else would work well as a Short. This Shorts feature has been taken from TikTok. This clearly signifies that alike Instagram, even YouTube is trying to compete with TikTok and is copying some of its features. So, what do you think about this new “Edit into a Short” feature? Do you think the feature is going to help the creators in any way? Do share your thoughts with us through the comment section below.
