The captions stickers provide a range of new options for creators and brands making it easier to reach a wider audience. This will also ensure that your Stories are understood both with sound or without sound. Put simply, it is a handy way to boost engagement. While Instagram’s caption feature was already available in IGTV and the Threads app, it is adding the feature to Stories and Reels. Here’s what you need to know.
How to add Instagram stories captions sticker?
Step1. Open Instagram Stories or Reels camera and either record or upload a video from your camera. Step2. Tap on the “Sticker” icon once you upload or record your video. Step3. Select the “Captions” sticker. Step4. Choose from four different text formats, move the text around the screen and change the colour. That’s it! Your “captions” is now ready to be generated on your Instagram story. Another way to use Captions in your Story is by setting up automatic video captions from the settings toggle in the Instagram mobile app. You can do this by heading to the three-dot menu from the main Instagram screen and then search for the Story Settings. Look for “Accessibility”, you will then find an option to turn on Auto-Generated Captions. The automated captions may not be perfect and so you will need to review the text. However, it can be a great addition to your Stories tools and worth experimenting with to see how it might fit into your Stories strategy.
Supported languages
As of now, the Instagram stories captions sticker works only in English and is available in English- speaking countries. However, eventually, this feature will be made available in other regions as well as in other languages. Additionally, Instagram chief Adam Mosseri reinforced that the option is also coming to Reels as well. Stay tuned for the next update!
